Frequently Asked Questions
It is not required to have your own designs, but it greatly reduces the lead time of your project if you do. Most of our customers come to us with fully dimensioned technical drawings and/or finished part models designed for manufacturing.
It is not required for your parts to be designed for injection molding at the quoting stage, but it is preferred. Either way, we often request part changes that aim to improve the manufacturability or reduce the cost of the tool during the design phase.
The cost of manufacturing an injection mold varies drastically based on the complexity of the mold's design, cavitation, and estimated production volumes.
Production tools are designed and built to have a long life, so the quality of the mold is much more important. We typically build molds that are expected to run a million or more cycles with routine maintenance. If you are interested in a prototype tool or lower-cost alternative, please specify in your request for quotation.
We can usually provide a quote for your project in 24-48 hours. Quote time may vary based on the complexity of the mold and approval process. The more information you can give us about your project, the faster we can quote it.
Production time varies on the complexity of the injection mold. All of our molds are designed to specification and production time will vary drastically.
